Bendinat is the quietest address on this coast: low density, green, built around a golf course and almost entirely residential. Villas are let furnished from one month, with Palma about twenty minutes away.
These villas are in neighbouring areas, a short drive from Bendinat.
Calvia’s own tourism board describes Bendinat as a residential area defined by tranquility, and sends visitors to Cas Catala, Ses Illetes and Portals Nous for the restaurants and the shops. That is an unusually honest description from a tourist board, and it is precisely why people rent here for six months at a time.
The layout is the work of Francois Spoerry, the French architect behind Port Grimaud: large plots, mature planting, no through traffic and very little street life. Real Golf de Bendinat sits in the middle of it, an 18-hole par 70 over 5,660 metres designed by Martin Hawtree, opened in 1986 and extended in 1995, with views across the Bay of Palma.
Be clear-eyed about one thing. Bendinat is not walkable the way Portals Nous is; it is a car address. If you want to stroll to dinner, rent in Portals Nous or Illetas. If you want to hear nothing at night, rent here.
Palma is roughly 15 to 20 minutes. The golf club puts the airport at 20 kilometres and 25 minutes, which matches every other source we could check.
Schools. Agora Portals International School and King Richard III College are both in Portals Nous, a few minutes west. The Bendinat school run is short enough that families treat the two areas as one address.
Everyday. The Eroski Center is inside the Bendinat urbanisation itself, open 09:00 to 21:30 daily, and it serves this whole stretch of coast. There is a local health unit, and Hospital Son Espases in Palma is a little over ten minutes.
Coast. Bendinat has no marina and no beach of its own, only a small cove shared with Portals Nous. Puerto Portals is minutes away and the beach clubs are in Illetas. This is a golf address, not a beach one.
The castle. Castell de Bendinat, completed in 1867, is privately owned and used as an events venue. You will see it from the road, and that is as close as anyone gets.
Every villa is let furnished and equipped, with a minimum stay of one month.
Utilities are normally metered and billed separately, and cleaning frequency varies by villa. We confirm exactly what is included before anything is signed.
Four and five bedroom villas in Bendinat are advertised from around €7,500 per month, with most of the market between €7,500 and €15,000 and a small number of beachfront and golf-front properties far above that. The stock is small: there are rarely more than a dozen or so houses of any size available at once.
One month. Most tenants here stay considerably longer, often a full winter or a school year, which suits the character of the area.
Not really, and we would rather say so. It is a low-density residential area with large plots and limited pavements, so you will use the car for the supermarket and for dinner. Portals Nous, five minutes west, is the walkable alternative.
Most four and five bedroom villas are advertised between €7,500 and €15,000 per month. Smaller terraced properties start lower, and golf-front or beachfront villas run well beyond that range.
Real Golf de Bendinat is in the area itself: 18 holes, par 70, 5,660 metres, designed by Martin Hawtree and opened in 1986. Golf Santa Ponsa and the Arabella courses at Son Vida are both a short drive away.
Palma city centre is roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car. The airport is about 20 kilometres, around 25 minutes.
